Youth Registration

Youth are welcome and encouraged to attend United We Ring From C to C to C. Youth are registrants 17 years of age or under on May 25, 2017.

 

All Youth Ringers must have their parent/guardian complete and sign the Youth Emergency Contact Media Release Forms 2017. These two forms (3 parts) can be accessed for printing through the above link. Two signed copies of each of these forms need to be brought to the Festival by the Chaperone.

Youth ringing in a Youth Choir:

Some youth will attend the Festival as ringers in a Youth Choir. These youth require one non-ringing chaperone (21 or older on May 25, 2017) for every six or fewer youth ringers in the choir. The Youth Choir Director may not serve as a chaperone.

Youth ringing in an Adult Choir:

Other Youth, will attend the Festival as ringers in an Adult choir. These Youth also require a chaperone (21 or older on May 25, 2017) for every six or fewer youth ringers in the choir. However, the chaperone can be a non-ringer, the Youth’s director, a ringing parent who is a member of the Youth’s choir, or any other adult member of the choir.

Youth Choir Director Responsibilities:

  • ensure that chaperones bring two signed copies of the Parental Consent Form and Emergency Information Form to the Festival
  • be familiar with any Youth ringer’s medical condition and be aware of how to respond to that condition
  • ring with their youth choir for all sessions and mass rings
  • ensure that chaperones clearly understand their role and responsibilities

Chaperone Responsibilities:

  • be familiar with each Youth ringer’s medical condition and be aware of how to respond to that condition
  • stay with the choir members at all times barring workshops and emergencies
  • stay in the accommodations associated with the youth attendance at the event
  • accompany youth ringers to meals, rehearsals and social activities
  • be accountable for the safety and behaviour of youth ringers at all times
  • ensure there is no talking during rehearsal
  • ensure no electronic devices and phones are visible or being used by ringers while on the Ringing Floor
  • bring two signed copies of the Youth Emergency Contact Media Release Forms 2017 for each Youth ringer to the Festival.  One copy of each form will stay with the chaperone at all times. The other copy will be submitted to the Festival Committee at Registration. This copy will be kept at the Information Central desk throughout the Festival. The contents will be kept confidential.
  • notify the Festival Registrar, Janis Cowie, of the name(s) of the youth you are chaperoning by e-mail (festivalregistration@ogehr.ca)

Youth Responsibilities:

  • stay with other choir members and chaperone at all times
  • stay in the accommodations associated with the youth attendance at the event
  • accompany other youth ringers and chaperone to meals, rehearsals and social activities

  • have parent/guardian sign two copies of the Youth Emergency Contact Media Release Forms 2017 and submit forms to chaperone
