The Ontario Guild of English Handbell Ringers enables schools, churches, and community groups to experience ringing handbells and chimes through the Instrument Loan Program. 

Below you will find our inventory of available instruments, and the application checklist.

Our inventory of equipment to loan includes:

Handbells
Three-octave set of Malmark handbells (includes 8 foam pads); quantity 1
Three-octave set of Schulmerich handbells (includes 8 foam pads); quantity 1
Loan period: September 1 to June 30

Chimes
Three-octave set of Malmark chimes (includes 8 foam pads); quantity 3
Four-octave set of Malmark chimes (includes 10 foam pads); quantity 3
Five-octave set of Malmark chimes (includes 12 foam pads); quantity 1
Three-octave set of Schulmerich chimes (includes 8 foam pads); quantity 1
Loan period: September 1 to June 30

Bell Tree
Bell tree (includes 5 wire bell clips, 3 acrylic clips, 4 mallets); quantity 1
Loan period: September 1 to December 31 or February 1 to May 31 (Second term may be extended to end of June festival)

Application Checklist

1. Review Instrument Loan Program Policy HERE. This document will give you information on how to qualify, pricing, and requirements during and after the loan period.
2. Contact our Instrument Loan Coordinator at instrumentloan@ogehr.ca to check on instrument availability.
3. Complete the Instrument Loan Application HERE.
4. Pay the non-refundable deposit ($75 CAD for handbells and chimes; $25 CAD for bell tree) HERE. Please note your application will not be considered until the deposit has been paid (if application is successful, the deposit will be credited towards the final loan payment).
5. If your application is successful, the OGEHR membership fee must be paid before the instruments are delivered. Membership and payment info can be found HERE.
