Instrument Loan Program

OGEHR’s Instrument Loan Program is overseen by the OGEHR Programs Committee. Currently, there are two, three-octave sets of handbells (one Malmark and one Schulmerich), eight sets of handchimes (Malmark and Schulmerich, ranging from three octaves to five octaves), and one bell tree. The handbells and handchimes are available for a one-year loan period, and the bell tree is available for a one-term loan period (September–December OR February–May), with the possibility of extending the loan period. Foam pads are provided with each handbell and handchime instrument loan. Clips and mallets are provided with the bell tree loan.

The instruments have been successfully loaned to schools, churches, and community groups, allowing the groups to experience ringing with the loaner instruments while they work on fundraising to purchase their own instruments.

To request the loaner bells, chimes, or bell tree, a current membership in OGEHR must be held, and a loan application completed, accompanied by proof of insurance. To request an application, please contact Barbara Peaker, Instrument Loan Program Coordinator, at instrumentloan@ogehr.ca.
