Stage Fighting (Yes ... stage fighting!)
Ever wanted to hit someone at rehearsal? Well, now you can!
If you are looking for a workshop at the festival that is completely different, this is the one for you. Learn some basic stage fighting moves used in theatre productions. When your neighbouring ringer glares at you for a mistake that your neighbour actually made, you can slap them across the face, punch them in the nose, or maybe bonk them with your chime! The choice is yours. And the nice part is no one actually gets hurt!
This is a workshop to come out to and just have some fun! And everyone from 9 to 95 will be able to participate. Don't be afraid to try!
Rob Cairns
Rob is Past-President of OGEHR and director of the Jubilate Bells from London. He also sings and conducts a number of vocal groups. That is on the music side, but theatre is also a large part of his life. Rob taught both vocal music and drama at Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts for 29 of his 34 years of teaching. In that time he directed over 70 shows, many of them Shakespeare tragedies with a lot of ... Stage Fighting! (And blood, but that is a different workshop!)
